Flotation cell for ore beneficiation

Product Description

Iron Ore Reverse Flotation Cell — 40 m³ forced-air mechanical flotation machine engineered for silica removal from magnetite and hematite concentrates. The U-shaped tank with false bottom, low-speed impeller and external air supply deliver strong pulp circulation, uniform aeration and stable froth — the three conditions reverse flotation circuits depend on.

Why Choose This Cell for Reverse Flotation
  • Silica removal from iron concentrate — reverse flotation flowsheet with amine or anionic collectors, achieving concentrate grade above 65% Fe.
  • Adjustable external air supply — precise aeration control keeps froth stable when floating fine silica.
  • U-shaped tank with false bottom — prevents sand settlement and improves coarse particle suspension.
  • Wear-resistant lining and low-speed impeller — long service life under abrasive iron ore slurry.
  • Low energy consumption — high effective volume ratio and energy-saving operation.
Working Principle

The impeller agitates the slurry while air is introduced through the external air supply system. The supplied air is dispersed into fine bubbles, and silica-bearing gangue particles attach to the bubbles and rise as mineralized froth, while iron minerals remain in the pulp and are discharged as concentrate.

This cell has no slurry suction capability. It is normally combined with XCF II flotation cells: the first cell of each flotation stage uses an XCF II unit for slurry suction, and the remaining cells use this forced-air cell. The bank can then be installed at the same level without intermediate froth pumps.

Application
  • Iron ore reverse flotation: magnetite, hematite, specularite and mixed iron ores
  • Flotation stage: rougher, scavenger and cleaner in a complete circuit
  • Non-ferrous metal, ferrous metal and non-metallic mineral flotation
  • Recommended feed size 0.3–0.01 mm, with more than 50% passing 0.074 mm
Separation Flow
Step 1 · Feed Feed Slurry with reagents enters the cell.
Step 2 · Agitate & Aerate Agitate & Aerate Impeller suspends solids; air becomes fine bubbles.
Step 3 · Attach Attach Hydrophobic minerals collide with and attach to bubbles.
Step 4 · Skim Skim Mineralized froth overflows to the launder as concentrate.
Step 5 · Reject Reject Unattached gangue sinks and exits as tailings.
