The SF flotation machine is a self-aspirating mechanical flotation machine designed for mineral flotation and ore beneficiation. It combines air suction, slurry suction and flotation in one machine, making it suitable for continuous froth flotation operations.
The SF flotation cell uses a backward-inclined double-blade impeller to draw air and slurry into the impeller chamber. Its horizontal configuration does not require a separate froth pump, while the internal slurry circulation helps maintain suspension of coarse mineral particles.

When the impeller rotates, a negative-pressure zone is created inside the impeller chamber. Air enters through the air pipe and center tube, while slurry is drawn into the impeller chamber through the center tube and circulation openings.
The air and slurry are mixed in the impeller chamber and then discharged through the impeller and cover plate. The mixture is dispersed into the flotation cell to form mineralized bubbles for froth flotation and mineral separation.
The SF flotation machine mainly consists of a motor, air pipe, center tube, flotation cell, impeller, main shaft and cover plate.
The backward-inclined double-blade impeller uses main and auxiliary blades. The main blades assist air and slurry suction, while the auxiliary blades promote slurry circulation in the lower part of the cell.

The SF flotation machine integrates air intake and slurry suction into the flotation process, reducing the need for additional slurry or froth pumping equipment. Its horizontal arrangement and internal slurry circulation make it suitable for mineral processing plants requiring a self-aspirating flotation cell.
For equipment selection, the required ore type, slurry capacity, flotation process, cell volume and number of cells should be considered together.
SF flotation machines are arranged horizontally in the flotation operation and do not require a separate froth pump. A flotation group can be configured according to process requirements, with up to eight cells in one integrated group and four cells commonly used.
The total number of machines and total flotation volume should be determined according to flotation test results or operating experience from similar processing plants.
1. What is an SF flotation machine?
SF is a self-aspirating mechanical flotation machine with both air suction and slurry suction functions.
2. Does the SF flotation cell need a froth pump?
No. The SF flotation machine is designed for horizontal operation without a separate froth pump.
3. What minerals can the SF flotation machine process?
It is designed for the separation of ferrous, non-ferrous and non-metallic minerals.
4. How do I select the right SF flotation cell?
Selection should consider the ore type, required slurry capacity, effective cell volume, flotation process and required number of cells.
The flotation cell quantity, configuration, scraper arrangement, feed/intermediate/tailing boxes and overflow gate control can be specified according to the flotation process and installation requirements.
