The BF flotation machine is an improved version of the SF flotation machine. Covering 0.15 to 24 m³ cell volume, it is a self-aspirating, slurry-suction flotation machine in which the suction cell performs air suction, slurry suction and flotation at the same time, forming a self-contained circuit that needs no auxiliary equipment and allows easy horizontal layout and flowsheet changes.

Structure & Working Principle
The machine consists of the cell body, main shaft, impeller, cover plate (stator), scraper and its drive, and the main-shaft drive. The motor drives the impeller on the lower part of the main shaft through V-belt reduction; the rotating impeller agitates the pulp to create a strong downward circulation that suspends the feed and lets particles collide with reagents and bubbles. As the impeller throws the circulating pulp outward, a vacuum forms at the centre of the impeller chamber and outside air is drawn in through the air pipe and central tube to mix with the pulp. The air-solid-liquid mixture interacts with the blades on the cover plate, converting tangential flow into radial flow, spreading the pulp across the cell section and cutting large bubbles into fine bubbles. The cover plate also stabilizes the pulp level, which improves bubble mineralization, reduces detachment of attached particles and raises concentrate grade and recovery.
ConfigurationThe BF flotation machine is self-aspirating and slurry-aspirating, arranged horizontally between operations with no froth pump. A bank can have up to 8 cells, usually 4 cells in one bank. The number of machines in a system (total capacity) is determined from beneficiation tests or similar plant practice; too few cells per operation should be avoided to prevent pulp short-circuiting.
Suitable for the roughing, scavenging and cleaning of non-ferrous, ferrous and non-metallic minerals, especially where a simple horizontal flowsheet without froth pumps is preferred.
FAQQ: How many cells should one bank have?
A: Up to 8 cells per bank, usually 4; the exact number is set from your ore test and flowsheet.
Q: Do you supply the flowsheet configuration?
A: Yes. Send your flotation flowsheet drawing and we will quote the cells, scraper drives and feed, middling and tailing boxes.
