Project Overview

A copper-zinc polymetallic mine in Zambia commissioned a 1,000 t/d flotation concentrator and selected XCF and KYF flotation machines as the core processing equipment. The plant applies a one-rougher, two-scavenger, two-cleaner flowsheet for copper-zinc separation.

Solution

XCF self-aerating flotation machines were arranged in the rougher and scavenger stages, where strong self-induced air intake and vigorous pulp circulation support efficient recovery of coarse copper-zinc sulfides. KYF mechanical agitation flotation machines were used in the two cleaner stages, providing controlled aeration and stable froth for concentrate upgrading and selective copper-zinc separation.

Results

After commissioning, copper concentrate grade and recovery both met the design targets. The equipment operated stably under local site conditions, adapting well to ambient temperature swings and variable power supply typical of remote African mines. The modular skid-mounted design shortened on-site assembly time and enabled rapid start-up and early production.

Conclusion

This project shows that the combined XCF + KYF flotation machine configuration is a practical solution for copper-zinc polymetallic ores, especially in African mines that require reliable performance and fast deployment.
