Copper flotation is widely used for the beneficiation of copper-bearing ores. A suitable flotation process can improve the separation of valuable copper minerals from gangue while maintaining stable and continuous operation.
This solution is designed around the typical requirements of copper ore processing and can be adjusted according to ore characteristics, processing capacity and concentrate requirements.

Crushing → Grinding → Classification → Pulp Conditioning → Flotation → Concentrate Dewatering
The copper ore is first crushed and ground to achieve suitable mineral liberation. After classification, the slurry enters the conditioning stage, where flotation reagents are added according to the ore characteristics.
During flotation, fine air bubbles are dispersed into the slurry. Hydrophobic copper minerals attach to the bubbles and rise to the surface to form a mineralized froth, while unwanted gangue minerals remain mainly in the pulp.
A typical copper flotation circuit may include:
Roughing – Recovers the majority of valuable copper minerals from the feed.
Scavenging – Further recovers valuable minerals remaining in the rougher tailings.
Cleaning – Improves the grade of the flotation concentrate.
The number, volume and arrangement of flotation cells should be determined according to processing capacity, flotation time and actual mineral characteristics.
A complete flotation line may include:
Grinding Equipment → Classification Equipment → Agitation Tanks → Reagent Dosing System → Flotation Machines → Concentrate Dewatering Equipment
Flotation equipment can be selected according to required capacity, ore properties and process conditions. Mechanical agitation, forced-air and other flotation configurations are available for different mineral processing requirements.
Flexible flotation circuit configuration
Suitable for roughing, scavenging and cleaning
Stable air dispersion and pulp circulation
Adaptable to different processing capacities
Equipment selection based on actual ore characteristics
Complete flotation process equipment can be configured
Copper ores can vary significantly in mineral composition, liberation size and flotation characteristics. Therefore, equipment selection should consider:
Ore composition · Processing capacity · Feed particle size · Pulp concentration · Flotation test results · Required concentrate quality
For new projects, flotation test results are recommended as an important basis for determining the final process and equipment configuration.
